Nils Williksen is a supplier of fresh and frozen primary
processed seafood products. The two main product groups
are:
- Products of farmed Atlantic salmon, produced by the
Midt-Norsk Havbruk Group
- Products of wild whitefish, landed by regional coastal
fishing vessels
Nils Williksen takes pride in tailoring products to
the needs of the customer. It is company policy to create
lasting customer relationship through partnership in
developing products and deliveries that fulfils the
specific needs of selected customers.
Farmed Atlantic salmon
The Midt-Norsk Havbruk Group holds 12licences for production
of Atlantic Salmon around the Island of Vikna. Total
annual production from the system controlled by the
group is 10 000 tons. Atlantic Salmon
Products from wild whitefish
Nils Williksen has long traditions as a provider of
fresh and processed seafood products based on whitefish
landed by the regional coastal fishing fleet. The supply
of whitefish to Nils Williksen comes mainly from daily
catches in the coastal area around the Island of Vikna.
The fisheries in the area are rich and have long traditions.
Annual supply of whitefish to Nils Williksen varies
by nature between 2000 - 3000 tons annually. To secure
freshness and high quality, the company operates three
receiver stations from which fish are brought in to
the main processing plant every night.
The value chain of Nils Williksen
Through the integration in the Midt-Norsk Havbruk Group,
Nils Williksen provides the customer with seafood products
produced in a controlled value chain.
Traceability and food safety
Direct ownership and control with the value chain for
production of farmed Atlantic Salmon gives Nils Williksen
an unique possibility to provide full traceability of
salmon products. We offer traceability from egg to delivered
product. We routinely collect and file information about
smolt-history, vaccination, treatment, feed-history,
starvation, etc. for all salmon and trout produced in
our system. Information requested by customers can be
provided in a timely, systematic manner.
Close ties with the regional coastal fleet which supplies
wild whitefish give us unique possibility to control
quality and trace relevant aspects related to white
fish provided through our system. Information requested
by customers can be provided in a timely, systematic
manner.
Production facilities
Nils Williksen operates a modern production facility
for processing of salmon and whitefish. The capacity
of the plant was doubled through investments in new
buildings in year 2000, our machinery equipment has
also been continuous upgraded each year. The processing
plant enables us to provide customers with a wide variety
of processed seafood products.
Quality
Nils Williksen take pride in providing seafood products
of high quality that meet the expectations of demanding
customers. We constantly work towards improving our
performance in all steps of the production and handling
until the products reach the customer. It is also our
policy to tailor quality to the specific demands of
our selected customers.
Nils Williksen operates an HACCP based quality system,
built on requirements set by company policy and standards
approved by Norwegian Authorities.
